OWAN WEST ROLLS OUT MOBILE HEALTHCARE FOR THE ELDERLY

As part of efforts to improve the well-being of the elderly, the Chairman of Owan West Local Government, in Edo State, Honourable Frank Ilaboya has promised to provide mobile healthcare programme for the elderly.

The Chairman disclosed this in a press release recently when he hosted the elderly from 75 years and above to a Christmas party in his Uzebba country home.

The essence of the health care programme the Council Boss explained is to make life more exciting for the elderly in the state.

The Mobile healthcare scheme he explained further would enable the elderly receive medical attention in their homes.

“I am pleased to let you know that effect from January 2021, we are coming up with a Mobile Healthcare Scheme which will enable the elderly receive medical attention in their homes”.

Moreso, those whose medical condition go beyond home treatment he continued would be taken to the nearest health centre with standby motorised ambulances.

There was wild jubilation when the Council Boss made the announcement of the Mobile Healthcare Package as the expected beneficiaries offered prayers to him and his wife Patience Ilaboya.

Earlier in his remarks at the Christmas party he organized for aged men and women in the community, the Council Boss said the party was a fulfilment of the desire of his family to give the aged a sense of joy and belonging this Yuletide season.

“My wife and I started this last year and here we are with the second edition. You could see the joy and excitement in their faces and that is the whole essence of the party, to share the joy of the moment with them”

“I want to thank God for the enablement to host this year’s Christmas party despite the harsh economy situation in the country.

Highlight of the event includes the promise to pay two nonagenarians and supercentenarian a monthly stipend of N10,000( Madam Bibe Eni aged 112 from Uzebba and nonagenarians Rebecca Obaika aged 98 from Oke New Ora as beneficiaries)
