The NAWOJ FCT candidate for the position of General Secretary, Zone D, Mrs. Joy Ajah-Idam has promised to carry out programmes and polices that will help enhance the livelihood of all members if elected into office during the Association’s general election scheduled for Saturday, 15th November in Minna, Niger State.
She made this promise yesterday in Abuja while address members of the Association on her intentions to contest for the post.
Speaking further, Mrs Ajah promised to hold constant zonal meetings and programmes that will strengthened the growth of the zone and by extension the members welfare.
” I stand before you all to seek and ask you all to vote for me as the credible candidate for the position of general Secretary of NAWOJ Zone D. ” I assure you all that with your ideas and support, we will have a better NAWOJ we all crave for. ‘ I will use my wealth experience and connection drawn from ministry of foreign affiars as my beat to organize local and international training for members.
‘ I will liaise with other local and international organizations to organize foreign trip that will help enhance our profession as journalist. With your support, ideas and vote, all this will turn to reality.”
Mrs. Idam however thanked members of the FCT NAWOJ led by Mrs Stella Okoh-Ogbeche and NUJ, FCT council led by Mr. Emma Ogbeche for all their unflinching supports towards her campaign goals round the state adding their gesture has helped to woo supports from other state.
Earlier, the Chairman, NUJ FCT council, Mr. Emma Ogbeche expressed the council’s readiness to do all withing its powers to ensure victory for the Association adding that NUJ FCT council remains committed to the growth of women.
“NAWOJ especially FCT chapter remains and will remain a dear project to us as council and as much we must nurture it to grow for them to be able to contribute their quota to the development of NUJ and by extension, the nation. ”
And so we are ready and determine to continue to give them our support to reach their goals”.
He however called on all members to set aside all grudges capable of setting them apart and endangering their growth as association.
